At the Indental group we have many years of experience in treating very anxious patients, and we understand that we need to do all we can to help make your visit as stress free as possible, so improving your dental experience with us.
Many patients say they would prefer to be “asleep” for their dental treatments but are aware of the risks of a general anaesthetic. Lots of patients would like sedation for all of their treatments whilst others may only choose to be sedated for certain procedures such as extractions. Concious sedation has many of the benefits of general anaesthetic without the associated risks
We use the latest and safe intravenous sedative technique to help you feel calm and relaxed during your dental treatment; it has an amnesic effectand is given as an intravenous sedation (through an injection into your hand or arm) during treatment. The drugs won’t send you to sleep – you’ll be awake and able to talk to the dentist – but they’ll calm and relax you so deeply you probably won’t remember much of what happened and many patients are unable to remember the vast majority of their treatment which helps relieve the stress and fear they may be feeling.
If you would like to learn more about sedation techniques please ask your dentist.
